How to Hurt your SEO

It’s important to be aware of what hurts SEO. For one, using “blog blasting” or other Free-For-All link services are poison for your reputation – don’t use them. As we keep mentioning, don’t purchase backlinks- search engines are known to blacklist entire networks of purchased backlinks. Also, doing anything deceptive or tricky (Black Hat) in anyway will result in your site becoming penalized, or worse, banned from the search engines entirely. Having pages with weak or minimal amounts of content also hurts the overall equity and value of the website. Every page should be valuable and interesting to the visitors who see it. We’ve also learned (from experience in the late 90’s) that keyword stuffing doesn’t help either – keep it legit and real and you’ll get real result.

Stupid SEO company also can ruin all your good work, trying to save money by hiring offshore company will ruin your SEO plan.

We keep telling Jordanian e marketing managers, google ..Read ..Learn then give us a call , and you will totally understand the bill plus our rate.

Remember : if its so good to be true, then there is something wrong !

why i will charge you 100jd per month, when all others charge 500 jd ?

Social Media : LISTEN

Why this is important:
Because the conversations are going to happen, with or without you. It is always better to be an informed participant in the dialogue, and to understand the lay of the land before you take your first steps. In the case of building your brand online, ignorance is definitely not bliss. You must be prepared to take a hard, realistic look at your brand through the rest of the world’s eyes so you can better understand how to talk with them and be a valued conversation partner.
How it fits into your plan:
This is very similar to market research, or even just keeping a pulse on your customer base. Consider this a piece of business development, and spend 15 minutes a day perusing your alerts. If people are talking about you, pick five posts a week that you find in your reporting, go out there, and respond.

WE DON’T PRINT !

Normally we make people raising their eyebrows most of times, and for various reasons, but nothing  surprise individual we work with as much as the idea of we don’t print unless we really really REALLY HAVE TO.

Anyway here are an interesting way to start having green office :

Putting the Green into IT

Let’s start with implementing an effective and easy-to establish,
company-wide policy.First, have all employees configure their monitors to turn off after 20 minutes of inactivity, configure the hard drives to turn off after 30 minutes of inactivity, and the desktop computers or laptops to go into standby or sleep mode after 70 minutes of inactivity (this gives you 10 whole minutes to get back from lunch or that hour-long meeting).
Next, purchase Smart Plug Strips for devices such as printers,
monitors, calculators, or typewriters that do not need to have power reach them unless they are being used. These plugstrips cost about $10 to $20 each and they can reduce the carbon output of your organization by up to 290 pounds each per year. Multiply that by each office or cubicle and you can get an idea of how much pollution and energy your business will reduce by this simple investment.
Finally, install motion-detecting light switches wherever possible. Replacing wall switches with automatic motion detectors is an extremely effective way to cut pollution and energy costs from indoor lighting.
This common sense approach to dealing with energy costs has other added benefits as well, such as sheer convenience and sleek appearance to employees, customers, and other visitors. Keeping the lights off when they’re not in use can also extend the life of the bulb and reduce unwanted heat while keeping an average of 265 pounds of carbon per office out of the air each year.

Future of the web and SEO

Search engine optimization may become less important in the future as Internet users rely more on recommendations and social media to find information. Already, people are asking questions on Twitter and Facebook instead of Google. This means that high-quality content and usability will become ever more important, because users are more likely to recommend a website if they have found it easy to use and useful. Also, search engines themselves will be smarter, meaning they’ll be able to better discern a Web page’s usefulness to a particular user.

I ran today by this quote, it’s kinda true if you run scam business ! or you push scam sites by doing blackhat methods !
But let’s compare 2 companies offering business card , both real , both legitimate business,
How you will bring B on no.1 and A down of it ?
Some people don’t get the full case..and that quote with respect didn’t get real case of SEO !

  • Some thinking have title ..voila we are done.
  • Some think adding couple of lines or stuffing on each page ..voila so so seo.

Some don’t even think!

Criticize SEO !

WHO ? WHAT ? HOW?

BUT ..
They’re listening to the wrong people. It’s easy to form a bad opinion of just about anything if you listen to the wrong people. Just as in social media, there are plenty of people in the SEO world who promulgate myths, misstate facts and make sweeping proclamations. These things aren’t always done intentionally but the harm is done regardless. Unfortunately, the people who are most apt to do these things are often the ones who have the time to hog the spotlight and are most visible to newbies.

They’re lazy. SEO is hard work. From learning the basics to staying abreast of the latest trends to actually applying your knowledge in practice, SEO, like most things worthwhile, requires hard work and an investment of time. Out of all the people who criticize SEO, how many do you really think have actually made a reasonable effort to see what SEO can do for them?

They’re full of nonsense. A lot of the people who criticize SEO don’t really believe what they say. Take Jason Calacanis, for instance. He’s said some pretty mean things about SEO yet his company, Mahalo, is basically an SEO play. And uses some pretty aggressive tactics at that.

If you can’t convince them, confuse them.

SEO tips

Here are 3 Mini SEO Tips

  1. Include a keyword in that attribution link. Stop linking your company name only and at least include the “Website Designed” portion. Even better, use something like “Designed by: Company Name – A New York Web Design Company.”
  2. Once you design a few sites with your keyword-rich attribution link, change the wording. It doesn’t need to be drastically different, but create some variation. Do this periodically.
  3. Create a pre-sale page on their site that features a testimonial and links back to your site. Then, link to this pre-sale page site-wide from the footer of their design. This will help you avoid the negatives of the run of site links, while getting a link from a page with a lot of internal PageRank flowing to it.

Social media on your own ?

You can’t just sign up for accounts on Twitter, Facebook, etc. and hope for it to pay off. You have to work hard at it and be consistent in the way you use it — you can’t just sign up and leave. Successful social media marketing involves signing up for social media accounts and actually being social — interacting with other users, regularly updating and participating.

Engage in social media, be consistent and see it literally pay off.

Experiencing a direct correlation between top financial performance and deep social media engagement,

companies engaging in social media are more financially successful.

Google ‘Caffeine’

As you may have heard, Google recently announced testing of a
new, more powerful version of their search engine technology.

It’s code-named “Caffeine

Now, as business people who rely on SEO, any time Google gives
us some insights into what they have planned for the future, we
need to pay attention.

So what can we learn from what Google is telling us about the
future of search?  Here’s a quote I think is particularly
telling:

“It’s the first step in a process that will let us push the
envelope on size, indexing speed, accuracy, comprehensiveness
and other dimensions.”

I think that one sentence tells us all we need to know about
where we need to be moving, and here’s how:
1. Size and Indexing Speed: This tells us that Google is going
to be crawling more pages and indexing them FASTER.  This
continues Google’s focus on fresh content – so many new pages
are created every day, they can’t keep up.

2. Accuracy: This indicates that the sites that will continue
to “win” the search game are going to be the ones that can
correctly match up the searcher’s keywords with the content
they were actually looking for.  Google indicates that they’re
interested not only in what sites people click on, but what the
searcher’s behavior is once they arrive.

With that in mind, success will come from testing and adjusting
your pages to better serve your visitors.  It will no longer be
enough to focus on the keywords alone, but on actually making
your content relevant to what those searchers want.

One way to do this is through careful organization of your site
structure, organizing information in ways that people will find
useful, not just search spiders.

3. Comprehensiveness: To me, this indicates that Google will
continue to heap love upon “authority” sites – ones that do a
really good job of completely covering their selected niche.

In Google’s never-ending quest for relevance, Google wants to
see sites that can indicate a thorough and comprehensive
resource for what people are searching for.  This is why it’s
important to continue to build pages that rank for ALL your
relevant keywords.

It’s not just about the individual SERPS, but the “profile”
that a comprehensive site creates.  I can imagine that this
focus could be partly to combat “SERP Spamming” tactics where
results are flooded with multiple, largely identical copies of
the same information spread across multiple Web 2.0 sites.

More and more, it’s going to be important to create sites with
larger and larger collections of content in order to really
dominate the listings.

Once again, Google shows that they prefer larger, older sites
that are packed with useful information.

So even though there’s been a lot of buzz around this
announcement and lots of speculation, I don’t think you need to
change too much if you’re already doing your SEO the StomperNet
way.  What’s working in Google now for us appears to be exactly
what they want to encourage.  In fact, they want MORE of it,
FASTER.

So get started today, so by the time Caffeine comes out of
BETA, you’ll be so far ahead of your competition they may never
be able to catch up…call

Bing

The follow post was publish on AIGC north america blog:

Google still has most of the market share and in a way, combining the two lesser search engines actually will save SEO types time and effort in the long run, since they are not dealing with rankings on two different engines with different algorithms.  If you use Yahoo Site Explorer or other tools on a regular basis, you might want to consider finding alternatives – with Bing taking over, these may not be available for long.

Gardening my SEO plan

seo plants

Gardening and SEO are incredibly similar when you think about it. Rankingsneed links, just as a garden needs water. Sometimes people link to you on their own, sometimes they don’t, and you have to go out and get them – just as sometimes it will rain, other times you have to get the hose, but more times than not, you really need the hose. Niche gardening, lets say cacti, as with niche SEO, say ‘purple kangaroo shoes’, sometimes wont require much water, or links, to grow nicely, but other factors such as soil conditions need to be there, and there is always the factor of time.

Gardening takes time, just as SEO does. Once the seeds are planted you need to wait for nature to do its thing, just as you need to wait for Google. Even the best gardeners can sometimes have failed crops if there is some kind of unknown hidden poison in the soil or if the weather doesn’t cooperate – this translates to well hidden spam or search engine road blocks, or perhaps a major algorithm update. Given time however to unearth and correct any hidden problems, the garden will grow – it just may take some extra water, fertilizer, and attention.

Gardening and SEO are both things that can bring you success, but if you don’t follow the instructions and common sense, and tend to your crop, the chances of that success will diminish.
