LinkedIn Jordan!

From Facebook to Somehow Twitter to You Tube, there’s no limit to the number of social networking sites that can be leveraged to interact with customers and prospects, and build positive brand awareness for Jordan Business Sector.

LinkedIn, however, stands apart from the crowd. The roots of popular sites like YouTube and Facebook are founded on the entertainment side of things and DATING PICKUP. But since its creation, LinkedIn has been geared toward the professional business crowd which Jordan has positive advance.

If you haven’t already incorporated LinkedIn into your online marketing mix, consider the latest statistics:

  • LinkedIn has more than 60 million members
  • A new member joins LinkedIn approximately every second

Get started with a LinkedIn marketing strategy today with these five tips:

1. Build a Network, Then Start a Group
Getting started with a LinkedIn marketing strategy involves two important steps, the second of which is dependent on the first:

  • Create a personal account and build a network of contacts. Reach out to customers with whom your business has a solid relationship – those who truly know your company and its products or services. Ask them to write recommendations for your company, which will appear in your profile. And don’t forget to ensure all employees are part of the network as well.
  • Once your personal account is setup, create a group for the brand. By creating a group for your brand, you’ll be able to maximize reach beyond your network. Within the brand group, you can start discussions, share news, post jobs and create subgroups.

2. Make the Most of Your Profile
For the LinkedIn community, your profile will be this first item they see, so treat it as you would any landing page. To make the most of your profile:

  • Hyperlink using keywords. Include relevant URLs in your profile, and use links with anchor text. For example, instead of “My Blog,” use a keyword to describe it such as “SEO and Online Marketing Blog.” (see image below)
  • Use keywords in descriptions. That includes the summary, specialties, experience and all other description categories.
  • Include an image in your profile. LinkedIn, after all, is a social networking channel. So add as many personal touches as possible to maximize engagement and put a face to the brand.
  • Caption: Include blog or website links in your profile using anchor text.

Include links in your LinkedIn profile using anchor text.

3. Leverage Third-Party Applications
Today, there are a host of third-party applications available to help you make the most of your LinkedIn activity. For example:

  • Box.net: Add links to files like resumes and marketing kits
  • Slideshare: Share business presentations and demos with your network
  • Company Buzz: Monitor messages sent out on Twitter about your brand or other subjects
  • TripIt: See where members of your network will be travelling to and when you’ll be in the same city

4. Update and Engage Frequently
Think of LinkedIn marketing efforts as you would blog, Twitter or Facebook marketing efforts: The more activity and interaction, the better the results. To consistently engage with your network:

  • Sync blog posts to your profile with tools like Blog Link or WordPress LinkedIn Application
  • Frequently update your profile with the LinkedIn status feature, much like Facebook status updates
  • Leverage the LinkedIn Question and Answer function – participate in others’ questions and ask your own

5. Promote Your Profile
In order to expand your network, LinkedIn marketing efforts – like anything else – must be promoted in other channels. Include a link to your profile on your website and blog, in individual blog posts, in email signatures and even on business cards. Be sure to optimize your profile for important and relevant keywords. Allow enough of your profile to be public so search engines can rank that content accordingly.

These tips, of course, are just the tips of the iceberg when it comes to LinkedIn marketing tactics. What specific tactics have you found successful for marketing on LinkedIn?

Social Media : LISTEN

Why this is important:
Because the conversations are going to happen, with or without you. It is always better to be an informed participant in the dialogue, and to understand the lay of the land before you take your first steps. In the case of building your brand online, ignorance is definitely not bliss. You must be prepared to take a hard, realistic look at your brand through the rest of the world’s eyes so you can better understand how to talk with them and be a valued conversation partner.
How it fits into your plan:
This is very similar to market research, or even just keeping a pulse on your customer base. Consider this a piece of business development, and spend 15 minutes a day perusing your alerts. If people are talking about you, pick five posts a week that you find in your reporting, go out there, and respond.

Our 2009 solutions are 2010 trends

A couple of days ago, we were looking around on the lists of blogs we track, 4 of them were posting about 2010 trends. It’s kind of funny and kool to know that 2010 trends are our 2009 solution’s we were providing (and still are!). Enjoy reading this post and compare it with out  Solutions page.

>>

Here are a few of the expected trends in web-based marketing for helping the early bird catch the worm:

Trend: Blending offline and online campaigns

Web properties will be optimized due to the demand of users for more content-specific search. Special effort needs to be made to promote the content, including the building of blogs, social media marketing, search engine optimization and email. These web properties will be utilized within an overall campaign that include offline media as well (e.g. snail mail, profiles, print advertisements, TV, radio etc.).

Advantage: The main advantage is cost effectiveness that can be achieved by moving more campaigns online from offline.

Strategy to be adopted: For consumer brands the strategy should be of developing strong relationships with the consumers by bringing the communication to a personal level. As a marketer you should continue to integrate social media with email marketing to ensure that brands, projects and products are cross-marketed to its maximum.

Trend: Digital Portfolios

Having an official website is not the icing on the cake anymore, as now the credibility of a company depend on their digital portfolio’s outreach. These include the corporate blog, electronic newsletter, RSS feeds, having pages on social websites such as Twitter and Facebook and LinkedIn profile pages. Your portfolio must be everywhere and anywhere.

Advantage: Creating digital profiles costs much lesser than the impact that it can create. It is also more innovative and pioneering.

Strategy to be adopted: 2010 is the year in which you should stop conducting random digital tactics and instead start developing holistic digital strategies. Set a game plan and follow it through, whether you see the results immediately or not.

Trend: Real-Time Web and Social Networking

The popularity of social websites such as Twitter is due to its real-time communication. Other famous websites that offer real-time updates also are Facebook and LinkedIn. This trend is flourishing so much that even Google has started integrating real-time listings in its SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). Look at GoogleNews for example.

Advantage: If you associate your business strategy to focus on real-time web then you’ll be among the early birds who’ll get advantage of this rapidly growing platform.

Strategy to be adopted: To be among the successful companies, make a strategy that enables you to have a reliable, consistent real-time voice in the marketplace in 2010. This means that if for example you choose Twitter, build up your followers list and actively comment on other Twitter profiles. Is Facebook you weapon of choice? Then use their widgets such as the FanBox to build an actively growing fan club, and watch your fan club grow.

Trend: Mobile Web Marketing

Thirty-eight percent of the youth say that cell phones have become more important to them than their wallet. It is predicted that by 2014 nearly 20 billion mobile applications will be downloaded yearly. Cell phone penetration in Australia has outdone cable TV, web access and home PCs. The mobile web market’s cocoon is turning into a butterfly now.

Advantage: Mobile web market allows direct access to the youth as well as corporate personnel.

Strategy to be adopted: Investing in mobile marketing will not be a waste. For small businesses and start-ups it has to be an essential ingredient in their marketing strategy.

Trend: Video Marketing

Adding videos to a website increases traffic and time-on-site. According to a survey by Internut Marketing, more than 71% of the Australian internet audience view online videos. Video blogs especially attracts visitors.

Advantage: Studies show people like videos if they are relevant and useful. Besides, countless buying emotions and memorable brand moments are possible through videos only. Online video is interactive, unforgettable, commonly accessible, inexpensive to create and vastly shareable.

Strategy to be adopted: If your website does not have any videos yet, add them this year, but be sure that they are appropriate and purposeful to your target audience. Interactive video technology will also be gaining hype this year, so do work on adopting them. For starters, consider creating your own YouTube channel to get a knack of how things work.

SEO for brands & mega sites

I am sure most SEO specialists faced this, and will face it in future: when you offer an SEO presentation to brands, companies, or mega sites ( 1+ million visit per day ), you will first hear from one of the C level managers: dude we have 1 million unique visitors per day , what you will bring to us ?

Well, let me share this case with you. We started working with a local web site from the Middle East 10 days ago (mega websites in middle east get 1 million visits per month and more ), we started with an internal SEO plan. Can i shut up now and you view screen shot below :

As you saw, we jumped from 27+ k unique visitors per day, to 200+ k unique visitors per day. That’s more than 700% increase, the decline you see refers to weekend days, traffic peaked up to an average of 150+ k unique visitors per day on business days.

Of course there were shifts from source of traffic from direct to refer, and decline of staying in the website, as most know usually search engine visitors read the page they click on, then may go to homepage or another related story, then close.

Now back to our friends of the screen shot: they usually get 1+ million unique visitors per month, by the end of January 2010 we estimate the traffic of Jan will be 3+ millions unique visitors.

It was not that big surprise to us, that’s why we told them make sure you have good web hosting plan to handle the traffic.

Also we want to share with you that 15% of this internal SEO plan focuses on realtime web .

As the first stage ends and social media campaigns start for them, we estimate their traffic will reach 5+ million unique visitors per month.

The point ?

Regardless how big you think your brand is, or how loyal your customers are, a strong SEO plan will bring positive, not negative, impact .

As a fun end for this, the E-marketing manager of this website, after the fast jump called us for a meeting to say this:  I brought you here to tell you this line, and you see my facial expressions while am saying it:

FUCK YOU ARE SO GOOD.

For most of us “SEO specialists” this is worth more than money, regardless how offensive that is for some.

Back to basics on Social Media

This post will be so clear

Have Twitter accounts for your company and yoursself.

Have a Facebook account for yourself and a page for your company.

Have a Wordpress blog, create an administrator account using your name, and blog at least 3 times a week.

Once you start to use these tools, assign someone within your company to act as the community manager (if you’re a one-man or one-woman business, this manager will be you!). This person will control your online voice. With all social media sites, you get back from them what you put into them. In other words, it’s critical to start, follow, and take part in ongoing conversations. Finally, track your successes and take small steps to grow your social media presence as required.

Social Media

For social media to be effective you must:

  • Identify your niche and your best target audience.
  • Listen. Better understand your prospective clients marketing challenges, obstacles, and frustrations.
  • Be transparent. The success of your audience must be more important than your own. But it goes without saying if you can help your audience with their success you will be successful.
  • Build relationships. People always want to work with people that they know, like, and trust. Social media

Into Twitter

It seems that even some of the biggest brands in Jordan aren’t using social networks to their full potential (or even at all).

What it appears to come down to is a lack of preparation and thought before launching into a social media strategy. Big brands are hearing the word ‘Twitter’ ‘facebook’ and knowing the hype surrounding it are setting up a presence and all but abandoning it.

It is not enough to sign up for an account on twitter, hoards of ‘followers’ will not automatically flock to your account and add you, you have to work at it!

Twitterers are becoming more savvy, dropping follows when they aren’t getting anything from them is as common as ‘de-friending’ on Facebook.

Jordantimes and Specialty Hospital from Jordan  have woven social media into their marketing strategies, Specialty Hospital is engaging their audience with conversations about issues related to their health concern (such as H1N1) but not necessarily about the Hospital services themselves.

Starting a conversation with your audience, you will see your list of followers grow, along with your brand awareness.

To sum it up perfectly:

“If you are going to get involved you need to do some deep thinking about what are your objectives, the best-practice examples are leveraging social media in an integrated fashion to deepen relationships, personalise their brands and provide customer service”

Between SEO & SOCIAL MEDIA which is the easier ?

In the SEO business there are fair number of experts, but in Social media there are so so many social media marketing experts, many of whom are self-proclaimed gurus in their field.

The 10,000 hours line ….

To be good in anything you need to spend 10,000 hours doing it !

What exactly does it take to become a search engine optimization expert or a social media marketing expert? In both of these aspects of search engine marketing, you begin by learning.  As the ideal marketer, you gets your hands on every single search engine optimization and social media marketing book or blog you can possibly find, and then you absorb the information presented within like a sponge. You begin following the experts (you know, the real ones) online. After awhile, you’ll be book smart. You’ll know what to do and what not to do. Hopefully, if you’ve followed the right books, blogs, and people, you’ll be armed with pretty decent case studies and pretty decent material to embark on your own journey.

Learning is the easy part. Applying the knowledge is the hard part. When it relates to SEO, the ability to apply that knowledge is easy since you can either create or buy a website that lets you begin applying the skills you need to become an expert. When it comes to social media marketing, you need to build up a presence by obtaining clients of some sort. And you’ll soon learn that it’s not that easy to find them.

Comparing Caffeine against Google’s current index

When we started selling social media package with SEO package, most were like why ? does it effect my SEO  results ? keep it short this is compare between Google Caffeine and Google Index :

  • Rankings are unlikely to fluctuate. Taken across all of the keywords for a client there should be a tiny percentage change in ranking.
  • Websites that do lose rankings are likely to be relying on older, archived content that’s not been updated in years. Keeping your site fresh to be crawled by Caffeine will be important.
  • There have been no changes to give one sector any new advantage over another.
  • Generic terms against long tail terms in Caffeine show a greater priority for News, Information and Social Media – which fits with generic terms being less clear in terms of the searcher’s intent.
  • Only 5% of urls contain exact matches for the searched keyword, 6% of the total point score is made up by exact match urls.

The Risk Reward

In days gone by, being an entrepreneur often carried with it a negative connotation. The general public associated business owners with insanity. After all, who would invest everything they had into running a business that may or may not succeed? Those days are gone. Business ownership is now a badge of courage-something to be admired. And yet, too many of the “new” generation of entrepreneurs want to play it safe. They start a part-time company while still holding a regular day job. Or, they invest a little bit of money into a company, and back out when things become too difficult. If this describes you, I have a little bit of news. You are a risk taker. Whether you would consider yourself one or not, you’re an entrepreneur…and therefore a risk taker. You took a risk in starting your company. But, is your conservative nature holding you back from taking more risks…and by extension, more rewards? Now, there are a few things you can do to manage your risk and still see large returns:

  • Invest in your education- the wisest entrepreneurs read about the success/failures of others, and plan accordingly.
  •  Invest in a system- if you do not understand the importance of having a system in your company, read Michael Gerber’s books, or go back through this series of emails.
  • Invest in marketing automation- there are two benefits here. Marketing is the key to growing your business. And, automation is a way to run your company while you work on growing your company.

If you’re not taking risks, you will certainly not see the rewards of your efforts. Take the time to analyze the level of the risks you might be taking. But realize, that without being willing to go out on a limb once in a while, you will never see the rewards you dream of.

SEO for RealTime

realtime

Here is the latest buzz in SEO underground: CAN WE SEO SITE TO APPEAR IN REALTIME SEARCH ENGINES ?

“Trying to get to real-time with your Google SEO efforts is an elusive goal to say the least. True, Google has advanced to the point that it can index and rank a new page in minutes, but this cannot (and should not) be relied upon, nor can the resulting rank be expected to be stable. Google often folds Google News and/or Google Blog Search results into its web search results via a “onebox”—providing yet another, “back door” way of getting into Google’s main web results fast. But for a vast number of queries, such oneboxes do not appear.”

Interesting ? ok our take on this is from Static to Social to RealTime

Is same game : play by rules, keep it clean, if you have already good SEO site, and you are known among sites, that you provide news that matter ( because No One cares about your realtime cleaning your backyard postings ! )

You will be in the game of realtime…
