Seo Yahoo bing yabing!

Spending last 3 days attending seminars , reading and listening to Yahoo bing deal.

Yahoo : The once proud warrior of the internet space laid down its sword,
knelt at the feet of Microsoft and gutted,
  as Jason Calacanis said

But who killed yahoo…we all did , i did before anyone, actually i don’t even recall last time i typed to search something on yahoo. i don’t check my yahoo email !

To be fair Yahoo didn’t need to do this deal, Microsoft did. Ultimately Yahoo will look back at this moment as the second–and perhaps fatal–mistake in their epic history.

We noticed and we learned. The thought leaders went directly to Google
and dragged everyone but the laggards (Yahoo’s current 20% market
share) with us. Yahoo accelerated the ascent of the master. Had Yahoo
not given their search franchise over to Google back then, there is a
good chance that the race for the most important business of the 21st
century would be a dead heat. Certainly it would be closer.
Microsoft’s obsession with taking Yahoo’s second
place position and adding it to their 3rd place position is not an
indication that it’s time to sell. Far from it. When Microsoft is
interested in a space it is a clear sign that you should be investing
in it–not selling it.

Microsoft’s deep dive into a graphical user interface on an operating
system, Windows, was a clear sign to Steve Jobs that his bet was
correct. Steve doubled and tripled down and that is why Apple is
Apple. Microsoft’s deep dive into word processors and spreadsheets was
the clear sign to WordPerfect and Lotus 1-2-3 that this was a space
worth fighting for.

Microsoft’s massive investment into video games, mobile operating
systems and search are clear indications that Sony’s Playstation,
Google’s Andriod, the iPhone, Google and Yahoo are very important
companies.

Everyone knows Microsoft does not enter a market unless it’s
important, huge and on the way to becoming even bigger. Microsoft is
the buy sign, not the sell sign. The people at Microsoft are brilliant
and not to be underestimated–history has shown this to be true.

And so ends the second chapter of search and begins the third.

Chapter one was inception up until the launch of Google.

Chapter two was Google’s rise and Yahoo’s death.

Chapter three will be the two-horse race of Microsoft and Google, with the inevitable emergence of a third and fourth player.

What about seo the yabing ! well No one knows but i will share my thought it will take yabing another 6 months to kick in . so seo for google !

Good bye yahoo , Thanks for each time i used your search engine to find something .

VERTICALS ARE THE SEO FUTURE

We will not talk much about verticlals  and how this will effect seo, but this will help you figure out why we work with A’s list companies !

Use the example of youtube. Why would you search on Google for a video when you can go directly to youtube and search there?

In the SEO market place, it’s the same with content. Make a site that is dedicated to a particular topic and stick with it, the SE’s will give more credence to a site that is about one topic than a site that is very weakened by too many topics. I know this is an old SEO technique but it is so obvious that many seem to miss it.

Gardening my SEO plan

seo plants

Gardening and SEO are incredibly similar when you think about it. Rankingsneed links, just as a garden needs water. Sometimes people link to you on their own, sometimes they don’t, and you have to go out and get them – just as sometimes it will rain, other times you have to get the hose, but more times than not, you really need the hose. Niche gardening, lets say cacti, as with niche SEO, say ‘purple kangaroo shoes’, sometimes wont require much water, or links, to grow nicely, but other factors such as soil conditions need to be there, and there is always the factor of time.

Gardening takes time, just as SEO does. Once the seeds are planted you need to wait for nature to do its thing, just as you need to wait for Google. Even the best gardeners can sometimes have failed crops if there is some kind of unknown hidden poison in the soil or if the weather doesn’t cooperate – this translates to well hidden spam or search engine road blocks, or perhaps a major algorithm update. Given time however to unearth and correct any hidden problems, the garden will grow – it just may take some extra water, fertilizer, and attention.

Gardening and SEO are both things that can bring you success, but if you don’t follow the instructions and common sense, and tend to your crop, the chances of that success will diminish.

Redirects for New Sites

301-redirect

When businesses and individuals decide to give their website a facelift their main agenda is having a new site that looks well designed, give a professional feel and is easily manageable with a CMS (content management system).

That is all good and well but what happens to the old site once the shiney new one is up and running and how will it impact hits and leads that are generated.

Managing the transition should carefully planned out with consideration of your current standings within search engines, how your site is portrayed on search engines play a factor in the amount of traffic you site receives.

Looking at the web analytics statistics of the many businesses that aigc has worked with, most sites receive approximately 50-65% of their traffic from search engines, so it is very important that traffic does not take a major turn for the worse when switching on the new site.

Consider the following situation:

Currently you have a page www.bloggersmosaic.com/web-solutions/facebook-applications that ranks well for the term “facebook applications” then the site goes through a big update where a new and better site is in place and the page URL of the facebook applications page is now www.bloggersmosaic.com/facebook-apps

If nothing is done the previous page will eventually drop out of the index of search engines and all traffic generated from that keyword previously will be lost.
To top it all off all the SEO done to have that page ranking so high will be all undone and the new page will start from scratch again.

This is where setting up redirects comes into play

Redirects come in 2 main flavours differentiated by numeric HTTP status code returned by the server for a URL:

301 – Indicating that the page has been permanently moved to the new URL defined
302 – Indicating that the page has been temporarily moved to the new URL defined

Given the above situation the idea solution to not drop out search rankings for “facebook applications” is to apply a 301 redirect to point to the new page. Applying a 301 not only tells search engines and users where to go to find the new page but also passes on the PageRank, a Google measurement of the importance of a page not to be confused with search engine page ranking, that is a determining factor to how a page ranks for search terms.

Using 302 for redirects is usually avoided for SEO purposes as each search engine treats 302’s differently depending on the destination domain. I have seen in some cases where sites have chosen to 302 redirect a majority of the pages from their old site to the homepage of the new site (under the same domain) and end up with hundreds of pages indexed in Google with different titles and descriptions pointing to the one page.

So before switching over to a new site think about doing the following:

Take a look over all the pages content of your existing site
I find using a sitemap tool to generate a list of URLs on a domain very handy for locating pages. A handy sitemap tool can be found here

Try and find the equivalent page on the new site
Locating a new equivalent give the new page a fighting chance to maintain the rank that the old page had for it keywords. If a previous page about facebook applications was pointed to a new page about content management systems then it is unlikely that the new page will rank for search term “facebook applications”.

Apply a 301 redirect for the old pages to the new equivalent and if there is none point it to the homepage
Using this as a last resort if an equivalent cannot be found, at least the PageRank is passed on. I’ve mainly seen this used for old article pages originating a few years back where the new site chooses not to display it, however care should be taken as some old articles still generate a lot of interest and can be worth considering making a new page on the new site about it to redirect to.

How Google determines ranking on Local Business Listings

According to Google, all Local Search results are based primarily on relevance. Google will rank local business listings based on their relevance to the search terms entered, along with geographic distance (where indicated) and other factors. Sometimes the search technology decides that a business that’s farther away from your location is more likely to have what you’re looking for than a business that’s closer.

Google doesn’t say (nor should they) how a business can be listed toward the top of these results. Just like SEO, there are many contributing factors. Currently, location, Yellow Page listings and local Internet advertising do seem to help. Although you don’t need a website to be listed in Google Local, a properly optimized site can be a big plus.

Google Maps and the Local Business Center are a free service, so there’s no way to request or pay for a better ranking. Google does keep the details of the algorithm confidential in order to make the ranking system as fair as possible for everyone, however by increasing the information in your listing (as well as links back to your website), updating your free listing can only help your SEO efforts.

Local SEO for your website
In addition to claiming your Local Business profile, you should also make an initial effort on your hospital website to enable local SEO. Make sure to include your hospital’s address and contact information on every page of your hospital site (and make sure the contact information can be read by the search engines – and not part of a graphical image),

Marketing

one of the greatest benefits of marketing is the ability to measure your efforts. And, for a business owner, this is a valuable ability.

You see, when you measure your marketing efforts… and then take the time to make the appropriate changes, you are going to see the results in the increased number of sales.

So how can you measure your marketing efforts? Well, good tracking and measuring is going to take a combination of Internet know-how and automated, marketing systems. But, between the two, you can easily track and measure:

  • Lead sources
  • Email open rates
  • Email opt-in rates
  • Email links
  • User interactions
  • Promotion responses
  • And, of course your resulting sales!

When you are able to SEE what is working, your marketing will become more specific, targeted, and successful. Even with a stellar marketing campaign, there is always room for improvement. Measuring your results gives you the chance to keep getting better, and bring in more and more sales.

When uncertainty rules… marketing campaigns are nothing more than a shot in the dark! With the ability to measure, track, and tweak, you can become a marketing powerhouse and start adding more money to your bank account!

SEO IS THE 2009 ONLINE ADVERTISING

Technology is changing, and so is advertising. If you want to keep up, you absolutely have to adjust — traditional advertising is no longer effective. Though consumers are treating online advertising like it’s invisible, they’re still using the internet. You have to be there when they’re looking for you.

An example: Say you’re a guitar shop. You know that if you place an ad on a music site, it’s likely that almost all of the site’s visitors are going to ignore your ad, even if they actually are in the market for a guitar. When those potential customers decide that they are ready to start shopping, they’re going to go to Google and search for a place to get what they’re looking for. If you don’t show up in the results, how will they find you?

A lead Website

Everybody knows one-side relationships never work. The same is true with websites. If a website is focused entirely upon you, you will lose any visitors that may stumble across it. On the other hand, a website done correctly (one that focuses on the visitor) can easily become a lead generation machine!

When designing your website, think about these four ideas:

  • People are egocentric. Subconsciously they’re viewing your website and thinking, “There’s tons of companies just like you. What are you going to do for me?”
  • People love being entertained. If they believe your website is providing interesting information, you’ll have them hooked.
  • People want their opinions valued. This is why most companies have incorporated a blog or forums-so their customers can put in their two cents.
  • And this is the ticket for generating leads for your business: visitors want to do something.

Give your visitors something to do. Give them something free to download. Offer a free report or whitepaper. Ask for their opinion on a blog post.

Do something, anything, and once the person responds, you “Require” the following information: name, address, phone number, and email. Guess what you just got? A qualified lead. Qualified because they stayed on your site long enough to take action.

Another Game.

aigc middle east

When we opened our middle east branch:  Aigcmiddleast 4 months ago, we have set for us 5 logos, standards, principles, strategies ..name it as you want:

  1. We will always be honest, even if it costs us client or account. ( we never lost a partner, and we will never lose one)
  2. We will never delay a job or task..so you know it’s hard job and we deserve our check! ( sick game which is popular in jordan )
  3. We don’t like cheaters, players,or betrayers, and we will never work with.
  4. No one can force us to do something, we don’t like or agree on.
  5. and most important: aigcmiddleast is loyal to its partners as we are loyal to our self.

Aigc middleast plays a game that is far beyond what close minded can imagine. THE HONEST LOYAL ONE.

As a wise man once said “Ain’t the same ** ballpark. It ain’t the same league, it ain’t even the same ** sport.”
